A potter active in Kyoto during the Showa period.
In 1941, he took on the name Miyanaga Tozan II.
Miyanaga Tozan is a hereditary business that has been in existence since 1868.
It is currently run by the third generation.
It is a style that has been in existence for over 160 years.
This is a technique that creates beautiful patterns like this when the celadon is baked by applying iron glaze to it. This is called Tenmoku.
Depending on the light, some parts show a metallic glow, as in the photo.
It also has a cute impression.
