Probably one of the most beautiful first CD players from the introductory phase in first-class, mint condition without scratches. As the successor to the CD 300, it belongs to the second generation of Philips players, with the addition of a time display in May 1983. The CD303 is a drawer top/front-loader in which the drawer moves out with the entire laser unit front-loading machine, realized by means of a tensioned cord and an electric motor.

CD compartment with illuminated transparent Plexiglas, so CD visible during playback. A touch on the Open/Close button causing the disc drawer to slide forward, while the disc pressure plate rises up to reveal the disc platform. Tapping the Open/ Close button again causes the drawer to glide back ready to play. Pressing the Play/Next key will set the disc spinning and, when it has read the 'Table of Contents' data, cause the machine to display the total number of tracks on the disc (by illuminating the appropriate number of LEDs in a row of 15) and start playing from the beginning. Further taps on this Play/Next key at any time will make the scanning laser skip to play from the beginning of the next track.
Today, the top loader is not only an extraordinary eye-catcher, but also classically elegant, which will secure its place in the vintage scene.

So if you're looking for something extravagant with very good everyday practicality, this is the perfect choice. The sound is very good. The mechanically un-rivalled CDM-0 swivel arm laser drive reads out perfectly, all LEDs are ok and evenly bright - which is not a matter of course. The CDM-0 drive from Philips is a masterpiece of mechanical and optical precision, manufactured with the utmost precision without mechanical play and resistant to impact sound. Very important in this context is also the optical element, whose lenses and mirrors are still made of glass, so that the semi-transparent mirrors and lenses cannot become cloudy.
The CDM-0 radial drive is not only the best drive, it is also the most expensive drive that Philips has ever produced, because the DC motor was simply too expensive, which is why it was replaced by a wear-free Hall motor in the CDM-1.

Dimensions: 420 x 88 x 315 mm, 220 Volt.
Weight: 8,2 kg

I ship by insured DHL parcel or UPS with tracking. I take great care with the packaging, am very thorough and use a lot of damping material in very sturdy cardboard to minimise the transport risk.
