Born in Tatsuno, Hyogo Prefecture, her real name is Tsutako. Her husband Gaei-雅英, the first generation, returned from China in 1945 with the results of his research into old ceramics, and established Tatsuno ware in his home town in 1947, completing the kiln-changed peacock tenmoku glaze in 1951. The first generation died in 1963. Succeeded to the name Gaei-雅英 II in 1964. Exhibited in Paris in 1974.
