You are bidding on a very fine and rare antique late 18th century 4/4 violin, labeled Fait par FENT Maitre Luthier, rue Monmatre, Cul-de-fac Saint Pietre a Paris. The instrument is in ready to play condition with no cracks, baroque bridge, good rosewood set up, new strings.
The violin has an excellent medium grained spruce of the top and one piece back with amazing inlays and carvings of castle. The whole length of the violin is 586 mm and the back 357 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 165 mm; middle bouts: 112 mm; lower bouts: 207 mm. Full size. The sound of this instrument is of a charming character, rich and beautiful colors, depth and great carrying power. Shipping worldwide, insured!
