A very RARE and beautiful book...."Madame Bovary" by Gustave Flaubert, Illustrated by John Austen, translated by J. Lewis May. Grey cloth boards with gold gilt lettering on cover and spine, with some tanning on spine. Covers a bit soiled with light wear around edges and corners. Pages are deckle edge, beautiful illustrated endpapers have slight tanning, no marks or foxing. Binding is tight. Frontispiece is b&w. Complete. Very clean inside. Very good condition overall. Uncommon.
