Landscape with famous waterfall, named Totes Weib , by Muerzsteg in the Austrian Styria was executed by famous Austrian painter Franz Reinhold Franz, painter (1816 - Vienna - 1893). Son of the painter, etcher and lithographer Friedrich Ph. Reinhold, the brother of the painter and lithographer Karl Reinhold. The artist studied 1830 – 40 at the Viennese Fine Art Academy as student of Thomas Ender and Mössmer. Painted on his study Travell in the alpine countries from 1834 landscape pictures. He was 1844 in Italy. R. provided for the noble families Lobkowitz and Waldstein forest and mountain landscapes (oil, watercolor and miniature), but also folk scenes, animal and hunting pieces. Works of the artist situate: Assault on a Fouragewagen, 1840 (oil, Museum of Gera); Forge on the Military Road, 1852 (Ö1, Castle Laxenburg); Landscape Drawing School, 20 Ru., 1870 (lithographs); Topographer. Views of Vienna (55 watercolours, Historical Museum of the city of Vienna); Zell am See (2 watercolours), Klosterneuburg (2 watercolours), WR. Suburban House (watercolour, all graph. SMLG.
