Eroma, Monochroma” is a collection of photographs by Nobuyoshi Araki, one of Japan's leading photographers. This book is a collection of photographs taken by Araki, who visited Rome in 2007 in conjunction with the exhibition “Araki Gold” held at “Istituto Nazionale per la Grafica” in Rome, and took snapshots of the city of Rome. While many of Araki's overseas photo collections include those of Vienna, Shanghai, Taipei, New York, and other cities he visited for exhibitions, this book also includes scenes from the exhibition and a photo session that may have been held in conjunction with the exhibition, and includes Polaroid and color images in addition to black-and-white snaps. Araki's random snaps of Rome's cobblestone streets, including ornately decorated monuments and historic sites, people passing through the city, and intimate nudes at a hotel with a woman who accompanied him, continue. Despite the pun-like title, the poetic sentiment of the historic city of Rome can be felt throughout the book.
