Zoltán Papp. One of the most original and original artists of this period. Very little is known about his life. He was born in Bánhida in 1941 and graduated from the College of Applied Arts in 1964. In the 1960s and 1970s he participated in exhibitions and among his larger-scale works, his wall sculptures for the Danube InterContinental and the chain of arcades in József Attila Street were the best known.
The Hungarian sculptor Zoltan Pap learned about the importance of freedom during the dictatorship.
In Salzburg, Zoltán Pap is known for several public works: for example, the book burning monument in the university park.
Born in Hungary in 1941, after attending the Fine Arts High School in Budapest, he graduated in 1964 and worked as a freelance artist designing and producing metal sculptures, works of art and jewellery.
He came to ďżż˝Austria with his family in 1981 and is also a freelance artist here. In addition to numerous exhibitions and commissions throughout Europe, his works also received well-deserved recognition in Salzburg: in 1984 he created a fountain in the courtyard of the Salzburg State Hospital, in 1985 a memorial to the Gypsies as victims of the fascist regime (commissioned by the state and the city) and a work adorns a reception hall at Salzburg Airport.
