Beautiful heavy Akai cassette deck from 1976. It is basically the same cassette deck as the GX-760D, only the GX-740D has mechanical controls.
It has been restored to top condition. The belts and pinch rollers have been replaced. A
recording / playback levels and speed have been adjusted again according to the factory specifications.
The GX-740D is equipped with Akai's superior ADR system (automatic distortion reduction), which changes the characteristics of the recording equalizer based on the signal level of a certain frequency band to achieve low distortion over a larger frequency range.
This Akai has excellent features, including Akai's 3-head cassette system with (the famously indestructible) GX recording and playback heads and an AC servo motor, ensuring incomparable cassette performance.

Please blame the post delivery or yourself for not pick it up here, but not me. You see on al pictures it was playing perfect. I packed it very carefully. So no idea what happend. Have a look inside? Maybe laser loose? Broken PCB? Good luck!
