Born on June 8, 1901 (Meiji 34) in Kurofune-cho, Asakusa-ku, Tokyo (present-day Kotobuki, Taito-ku, Tokyo)
After graduating from elementary school in 1914, moved to Kyoto. Do not enter as a disciple in the order of the design artist, Japanese painter, and print designer. Became a disciple of kikuchi keigetsu(菊池契月), a Japanese painter
Returned to Tokyo in 1919. Adopted by Hakubunkan as an illustration artist who publishes a magazine called “Kodan Magazine(講談雑誌)”. Debuted in 1920 with illustrations for the March issue of “Kodan Magazine(講談雑誌)”, and after that he continues to draw illustrations centered on “Kodan Magazine” and “Bungei Club” issued by the company.
Around this time, he became a disciple of Ito Shinsui(伊東深水).
In 1961, received the Medal with Purple Ribbon.
