Mihaela Anton - The Lamentation of the Virgin Mary

The Icon of the Consolation of the Mother of God is one of the few icons in Orthodox Christianity in which the Most Holy Mother of God is depicted alone, without the Infant Jesus in her arms. In theology, Orthodox Christians regard the Mother of God as our Mother, of all, who feels our pain and intercedes for us, bringing our pain before her Son.
The painting is made in oil colors on a prepared slice of pin wood. Pine wood is notably distinguished by its durability and resistance.

As an artist, Mihaela holds a Bachelor's degree from George Enescu Art University, a testament to her foundational education.
