Set of 2 print originate from Gibson's English version of Camden's Britannia (Britannia or a Chorographical Description of Great Britain and Ireland Together with the Adjacent Islands The Second Edition”, originally published in 1695; these prints are from the second 1722 edition.
William Kip (active early 17th century) was an English engraver known for his contributions to cartography and topographical illustration. He collaborated with prominent mapmakers such as John Norden and John Speed, engraving detailed maps for their atlases. Kip’s work often featured intricate linework and decorative embellishments, typical of the period. He is particularly recognized for engraving maps in John Speed's The Theatre of the Empire of Great Britain.
