Here is an asbolutely splendid miniature from Elmwood mine, gathering together what made this Tennessee locality famous worldwide: a perfect gem orangeish calcite twin standing on contrasting matrix and combined with 'ruby jack' sphalerite!
The gem calcite twin is 5.0 cm long and displays some small baryte sprays inclusions near its contact point with the matrix, a silicified slab of carbonate rock totally coated in sparkling micro quartz.
The sphalerite crystals are very glossy and show a desirable brown-red internal colour.
Just fantastic, fine American and international classic of the best quality!
