【Product details】
The first tea bowl, crafted by Ito Keiraku, features a delicate cherry blossom design in soft salmon pink. This bowl bears the artist’s stamp on the bottom and comes with a stamped cloth and its original wooden box. Ito Keiraku was born in Kyoto in 1942 and studied under Yorigami Sohaku. For over 30 years, he has been involved in creating tea ceremony ceramics at his kiln in Kyoto. The cherry blossom design symbolizes the transient nature of life, beauty, and renewal, which are deeply embedded in Japanese culture.
The second tea bowl is a black Raku ware piece by the 3rd generation Sasaki Shoraku, depicting Mt. Fuji in a subtle, textured design. This tea bowl also has the artist’s stamp on the bottom and comes with a paper box, which shows minor stains due to age. Sasaki Shoraku, born in 1944 in Kameoka City, Kyoto, began his training under his father, the 2nd Shoraku, in 1962. He continues to uphold the traditional techniques of red and black Raku ware, with a focus on tea ceramics. Mt. Fuji represents strength, endurance, and harmony with nature, serving as a symbol of Japan's cultural and spiritual identity.
Both tea bowls show some signs of use but are in good condition. Please refer to the photographs for further details.
Dimensions of Black Tea Bowl: approx. H 8.2 cm W 12 cm D 12 cm
