This book is a catalogues introducing Japanese family crests (Samurai Kamon), titled "Hyojyun Monchou". (Published 1989) Most Japanese families have inherited crests called "kamon" passed down through generations. A kamon (family crest) is a Japanese crest used to identify an individual or family.
