Nice low four-panel folding screen with a vibrant painting on silk of a peacock and magnolia.
Signed and sealed on the upper left corner.
Watercolour and ink on goldish silk. Surrounded by two brocade silk borders, a thin white one, and a broad green one. Framed by black lacquered wood with protective golden metal hardware.
Period: China – 1960’s-70’s.

Total width 177.4 cm (2 x 44.5 cm and 2 x 44.2 cm), Height 89.6 cm.
It is in a very good original condition, one hinge with some wear. Please have a look at the photos for a clear condition reference.
Due to its small size and because the screen is light in weight, the byôbu is very suitable to be mounted flat on a wall and presented as one piece of art.
