Mark Veniaminovich Vishnyak (1883-1976) - Russian lawyer, publicist. Member of the Socialist Revolutionary Party since 1905. Well-known public figure of the Russian diaspora. He graduated from the 1st Moscow Gymnasium and the Law Faculty of Moscow University. Published in “Prava”, “Legal Commandments”, “Legal Bulletin”, “Delo of the People”, “People’s Bulletin” and other publications. Deputy and Secretary of the Constituent Assembly. Worked in the editorial office of the newspaper Izvestia. In exile since 1919. He occupied key positions in the editorial office of the most authoritative socio-political and literary magazine of the Russian diaspora, “Modern Notes”. The magazine was organized by members of the Socialist Revolutionary Party: M.V. Vishnyak, A.I. Gukovsky, V.V. Rudnev, etc. The title ``Modern Notes`` was supposed to remind readers of two Russian magazines of the 19th century - ``Contemporary`` and ``Domestic Notes``. The magazine was published from 1920 to 1940, 70 issues were published.
