JVC JX-T88 Character generator

In the days of analogue video editing, this JVC character generator was aimed at the entry level professional / advanced amateur editor. It has all the necessary to create and edit (moving) titles with a great variety in size, type, color and appearance. It offers both VHS and S VHS input and output, switchable on the rear. It also has a monitor output.

Although most people use digital software to edit video material nowadays, there still seems to be a group of enthusiasts looking for ‘old school’ machines like this JVC from the 1990’s. Maybe the appeal lies in the straightforwardness of use and the tangibility of the buttons.

The JVC JX-T88 character generator you see here used to belong to a friend of mine with a small studio, who used it for editing his wedding videos, but switched to digital as soon as he could because of the greater options. I bought this JVC from him and still have it, although I really haven’t used it for years. It’s in very good condition, both optically and technically.
The JX-T88 comes with an English manual (not in good condition).
