In Greek mythology Pegasus or Pegasos was an immortal, winged horse. It was tamed by Bellerophon and could create a spring of water by stamping his hoof on the ground. He pulled Zeus' chariot and carried thunderbolts for the King of the Gods.
The Sasanian stamp seal, a miniature treasure, showcased ancient Persian artistry and administration. Carved from materials like stone or semi-precious gems, these seals bore intricate engravings of rulers, deities, or symbols. Used to authenticate documents, they played a pivotal role in Sasanian bureaucracy. Discovered in archaeological contexts, these seals provide insights into imperial governance and cultural expressions. Their designs reflected Zoroastrian beliefs and Persian iconography. Sasanian stamp seals bridged the personal and official realms, signifying authority and identity. These artifacts link us to a time of political intricacies and artistic finesse, underscoring the significance of seals in preserving the history of the Sasanian Empire.
