A delightful 19th century Paris porcelain ointment pot and its cover, measuring circa 7.2cm in diameter and weighing 314g, printed in black with the cover depicting a bull beneath text "Veritable Moelle de Boeuf" (real bovine bone marrow) within gold band. The body of the pot decorated with bulls in continuous landscape and text "Mailly, parfumeur, 241 Rue St. Martin, Paris. The bone marrow ointment would have been a beauty product to enhance skin tone since marrow contains a lot of collagen.
Condition: Unrealized chip to the inside rim, otherwise good. Minor wear commensurate with age.
