A marble seal bead talisman with lion and gazelle carving from the ancient Mesopotamian culture.

First Millennium AD.

In good condition. Original, ancient, hand cutting, carving, boring and grinding. It has been cleaned but the nice ancient patina is preserved. The holes are ancient, hand-made, irregular. Traces of use and age on its surface.

Purchased in 1976/Tehran on the local art market by Dr. Zelnik.
