“This spray painting features a female face where I explore the capture of light in an intense and vibrant way, using neon paints for the first time to achieve this effect. The predominant colors are blue and orange, creating a dramatic contrast that suggests internal illumination, giving the work a sense of vividness and strength.
My central objective with this piece was precisely to imbue the painting with light, transforming it into a source of luminosity. It’s worth noting that, in person, this impression is even stronger and the beauty of the work is more evident, with the sensation of light being more palpable than in the photograph, which cannot capture the full extent of this effect.
Additionally, technically, I applied the neon paints in a way that creates a smooth transition between colors, avoiding rigid lines and promoting a continuous flow of light over the surface. Conceptually, I interpret the work as a reflection on the duality and integration of opposing elements, such as hot and cold, light and shadow, suggesting an internal complexity and a visual harmony that attract and hold the viewer’s gaze.”
