Rhum Saint -Esprit
The packaging has also changed over time: the first bottles of Saint-Esprit rum were reminiscent of "clissage", a Bordeaux speciality which consists of covering the bottle with raffia (made in Gironde). More recent bottlings will be simplified, this time featuring raffia on the label, with printing and images already replacing the tedious craft of clissage. Over time, the degree of alcohol will be reduced from 44° to 42°, and will inevitably end up at the classic 40° with the new face of the label. As for the origin of the rum, it's a mystery - all we know is that it's a 'Guaranteed Pure Origin', followed by the slightly more 'precise' 'Overseas Rum' (purists will appreciate this).
The Italian import label was lost with time.
The bottle will be shipped in polystyrene packaging, specially purchased and boxed in a cardboard box.
