Verlag der Argonauten, Bietigheim. 1996. First edition, first printing.

Condition:
Inside new, mint, unread. Outside with very light trace of use; no remarkable defects. Overall near mint, near perfect condition.
Great German photo publication - in fantastic fresh condition.
The first part contains the colour photographs; the 1-page glossary at the end of the volume shows that they were taken between 1987 and 1989. The deserted pictures show relatively bleak scenes, mostly shops, cars or (parts of) buildings; in the second part (except for one picture, 1986 - 1987) the pictures become even more melancholy: obviously abandoned buildings create the image of a time that has come to a standstill.
The glued-on original photograph (not dated, numbered or signed) on the last page, "Volkswacht", stands in stark contrast to this with its ochre-red colouring.
Joseph Graf von Westphalen, born 1945 in Schwandorf, is a German writer who is best known as a satirist.
