Planes of this type are being used by ATC to re-deploy U.S. troops from Europe and the United Kingdom to the USA. 150 C-54’s will soon be used to fly 20,000 soldiers home in July and 30,000 monthly thereafter, over and above wounded and sick soldiers being evacuated.
