An outstanding antique copy of ''The Illustrated Holy Bible'' Published in 1878 by John G. Murdoch and with commentary by Rev. Matthew Henry. Contains the family register and multiple beautiful engravings by artist John Rogers.

This enormous edition of the Holy Bible was published in 1878 and was edited by Reverend Matthew Henry. It contains an introduction and commentary, along with marginal references by the editor.
Including twenty-seven illustrated plates, Collated and complete.
.Handsomely bound in full morocco leather with gilt décor to the front board" worn offs" and original metal clasps. Spine is re-backed with gold detailing which is heavily faded by the time. Externally, some losses to the leather and front part and some first pages are in a loose condition with some rubbing to the boards but otherwise binding throughout the rest is firm. A few spots to the tissue guards of the plates, and the odd spot throughout. Some plates have a small tidemark to them. Many pages do remain bright and clean. Please check all pictures which are fully considered as description. A delightful family bible

The carpet is beautiful and well managed: a bit dusty but I did expect this. From the pictures displayed I imagined another type of colour pattern, by the way I am satisfied

The colors do not have the intensity they have in the photos, they are more faded. Probably the photos have been edited
