Mont Destin (a great Christmas wine)
Located on the world famous wine route in Stellenbosch, in the West Cape, Mont Destin produces the wines in the traditional way. Grapes are picked by hand and brought to the wine cellar in small boxes. Grape bunches are sorted by hand on a vibrating table, after which the stems are removed. The grapes are then selected by hand; the last remaining stems are removed. Only the best quality grapes get access to the steel fermentation tanks, where the fermentation process can take place in peace. After grading on wood, winemaker Samantha Bürgin determines which barrels carry the highest predicate to finally be drunk as Destiny Shiraz.
