Date: ca. 1920-40 This pewter salt cellar with its cobalt blue glass liner was made by Just Andersen. The round body is facetted like a classical Greek/Roman column. The feet are adjoined by a frieze of scrollwork. On the underside there is a clear marking: JUST within an Abstract A form. This is the mark of Just Andersen, Denmark’s most renowned most recognized designer of Modern Pewter, although he also worked with other metals. His works are highly collectable and can even be found in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York Condition: Very good. No damage.
