Silver pendant enclosing an authentic ancient coin, set in a new silver pendant with decorated border.
Coin: silver Tetradrachm, Seleucid Kingdom, King Antioch VII Euergetes Sidetes.
Antioch ad Orontem mint, 138-129 BC.
Obverse: Diademed head right.
Reverse: BAΣIΛEΩΣ ANTIOXOY EYEΡΓETOY to right and left of Athena standing left, holding Nike and spear, resting left hand on a shield at her side. AΦ monogram over A in left field, Φ in right field, all within wreath.

Antiochus VII Euergetes, also known als Antiochus the Pious was ruler of the Hellenistic Seleucid Empire from 138-129 BC. The Empire roughly encompassed southern Turkey, Syria, Iran and Iraq and was a major center of Hellenistic culture.
After reuniting his country he ruled as king of the Seleucid state and successfully recovered much of his forefathers’ territory before he was slain by the Parthians.
He is considered to be the last great Seleucid king.
