An interesting 1980s design ball clock, licensed by HPI/ Can You Imagine
For sale since at least the late 1970s
This design clock displays the time using rows of shiny steel balls that are aligned in a line/trough with numbers. Time Machine has a row of balls for hours (1 to 12), five minutes (0 to 55) and single minutes (0 to 4).
Every minute a ball is brought up by a rotating lever and released into the upper minute groove.
After the fifth ball has rolled into the minute groove, this groove empties and a ball rolls into the middle 5-minute groove.
After the twelfth ball has rolled into the middle 5-minute groove, this groove empties and a ball rolls into the lower hour groove.
There are also several videos on YouTube about this unique clock.
The ball clock comes with a matching dust cover + includes the batteries (4 x typeC in total)
Including some extra steel balls (app 40 in total). The battery case is clean (no leakage of batteries)
Provenance: private collection
No cracks, chipping or dents or missing elements.
In an excellent pre-loved condition with some minor traces on the dust cover according to the age.
