First edition. Numbered edition. One of only 225 copies printed and numbered by hand. In original slipcase.
Poetry in Dutch, and illustrated with one small woodcut vignette on the title and 36 text woodcuts by Joris Minne.
Black softback with simple gilt titles to the front cover. The two end papers have darkening / offsetting from the covers, but internally excellent condition throughout. The black slipcase / box is also in very good condition. It is clean and neat, with just a little edgewear to the spine. The slipcase has no titles.
"Uitgaven van de Vrienden van het Hooger Instituut voor Sierkunsten; 3." The typographic design of this print by the Friends of the ISAD was in the hands of Henry van de Velde. Printed in red and black on van Gelder laid paper. Poem from the cycle "Keerkhofblommen" (1858) by the most important Flemish poet, whose work, despite its creative quality and linguistic ability, was only discovered by the Flemish modernists (cf. Meyers Handbuch, p. 326).
Conforms to FirstSearch / OCLC: 901572406. Holdings only in three Belgian libraries.
