This series of illustrated panels was developed by Girard for Herman Miller in 1971. Initially conceived to lighten up office environments, they also had a huge success as domestic decorations, with their colourful geometric patterns or figurative subjects taken from Girard's universe. Vitra reissued them as a limited edition some years ago. A linen-cotton blend fabric on a fiberboard. Only 3 smaller, unframed versions remain in the current catalogue, making the bigger, framed others rare and colletible pieces. This particular Stars no. 002 version used to retail over 1500€ when it was for sale. The panels are exhibition pieces and their condition is excellent overall, with no decolorations, tears or any other flaws in the fabric.
