Struck under Tiberius, Dated RY 17 (AD 30).
Obverse: (TIBPIOY) (KAICAPOC), lituus
Reverse : LIZ , within wreath, Crude. Meshorer 333; Hendin 1342 .
Pontius Pilate is best known for being the official who presided over the trial of Jesus and ultimately ordered his crucifixion.
Provenance : Ex- Danish private collection formed before 1990
