This extremely rare reliquary contains one of the most sacred and venerated relics of the Christian tradition:
An extreme large fragment of the genuine Cross of Jesus Christ.
This is not a microscopic splinter but a fragment of almost 44 mm lenght !
The relic is kept in a glass cylinder and has a label with the inscription: SS. CRUCIS JESU CHRISTI
Sealed with the personal wax-seal of bishop Guillaume Lemmens.
Guillaume Lemmens was the fifth bishop of the diocese of Roermond in The Netherlands.
Wax-seal and threads are undameged and in good condition.
Attached is an image from the coat of arms of this bishop to clarify the ecclesiastical wax-seal.
