A beautiful hand-carved Kuba box, made in Congo. This is an exceptionally beautiful piece with an original and unique design with finely carved decoration of magic knots. The Kuba were master carvers and created some of the most beautiful and intriguing decorations, as this piece demonstrates. Carved of one piece of wood with superb patina in the mid-20th century, most likely 1950s-70s in one of the artistic workshops. 19.5 cm long 5,5 X 8,7 cm A wonderful and mystical piece, in good condition with wear consistent with age.
