A large Chinese Yixing clay lidded tea-pot of rectangular section with turquoise-glazed ear and spout. China, Qing dynasty, 19th century. Mark: 宜興紫砂(各壺 ?) Made for Straits (Singapore, Malaysia).
Finely potted with S-shaped walls, supported on four console feet. The ear and spout under glossy turquoise glaze, modeled as branches with twigs coming to the body of the teapot, ending with relief flowers and twigs with leaves. Stamped to the base with a six-character mark within the geometrical band. Teapot comes with its original rectangular cover with a finial modeled as a tree-trunk.

Dimensions: height with cover – c. 14 cm; height without cover - 11,2 cm; width (with spout and ear) – c. 18,5 cm, depth – c. 10 cm. Weight - 506 g.
Provenance: a private collection in Netherlands.
Conditions report: teapot in very good condition with minor firing faults and regular use-related wear only. Cover with chips to corners, possible caused by firing cracks. Check pictures for details. Strong white light tested.
