Oil Rig Lamp
A Unique Piece of Industrial History.
This floor lamp was created from a light salvaged from a decommissioned oil rig off the coast of Zeeland, replaced by wind turbines as part of a renewable energy initiative. OFFSITE, intrigued by the rugged beauty of industrial objects, was present during the dismantling of the rig. While photographing the process wasn’t allowed, we were given the light as a piece of this transformation from fossil fuel to wind energy.
The lamp embodies OFFSITE’s ethos of reimagining industrial materials into functional design. Co-founder Ollee, a DAE Master’s alumnus, brings this piece to auction in collaboration with Catawiki x DAE Alumni. The lamp is 1 of 1.
