423rd head of Koyasan Kongobuji Temple (Ito, Wakayama Prefecture).
Kengyo-Hoin (the highest priestly rank in the Koyasan Shingon sect).
He was the abbot of Kashu-ji Temple (Kyoto City) of the Yamashina School of Shingon Buddhism.
