A rare Roman bronze ring with a silver gem depicting a young emperor, possibly a young Severus Alexander; the silver ‘gem’ could have been crafted from a Roman denarius coin.

Severus Alexander, Roman emperor from 222 to 235 AD, prioritized diplomacy over conflict, seeking stability through negotiation. Educated in philosophy, he faced military opposition but aimed for moderation. Assassinated at 26, his legacy lies in his diplomatic efforts and promotion of intellectual pursuits during his brief reign.
