An impressive Ottoman Empire/Bedouin Style large silver-metal pendant featuring a tiered, hollow domed body and hanging bell decoration. The body of the pendant is adorned with a frieze of geometric patterns, and is encircled at the base by a ring of larger granulated spheres alternating between a horizontal band of three smaller granules. The top features a large blue glass bead, encircled by ten smaller cabochons of red, blue, green and transparent glass. The base of the pendant features eight circular plaques, adorned with triangular motifs, each holding a pair of chains capped by a bell. To the top, and the back of the pendant there is an applied loop for suspension. Good solid condition, wearable. Signs of wear consistent with age and use. One of the chain-bell pairs is missing.
Measurements: (circa) L 11.2cm x W 7cm x H 1.8cm
Provenance: Purchased by the current owner in 2021. Prior English collection of Mr. A.H.D.
