The RX40 is a solid body electric guitar introduced by Ibanez in 1996. It is part of the entry level RX series. Production started in 1995 in South Korea by Cor-Tek and move to Indonesia in 1996.
The RX40 features an agathis or maple plywood body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include a synchronized tremolo bridge and Ibanez Powersound pickups in an HSS configuration.
This RX40 replaced a similar model with a maple fretboard. It was discontinued after 1997.
