Fabulous refined Art Deco composition of a “Nude with Borzoi”, designed by the famous German artist Ernst Wenck(1865 - 1929) for the Art Department of the prestigious porcelain manufacturer Fraureuth, in excellent condition.
It depicts a a naked seductress lady, lying down on a bearskin (symbol of luxury) spread out on a flat, oval white pedestal.
Wearing high-heeled shoes and a white headband in her jet-black hair only, she strokes a dog, a beautiful greyhound, as graceful as its owner.
Römer and Foedisch Fraureuth porcelain factory was founded by Georg Bruno and his cousin Arved von Römer, in 1867.
In 1891, the porcelain factory name converse into Fraureuth AG and in 1899 it was replaced the old brand (Latin F in a circle) followed against the mirror monogram "PF" in the circle under the princely hat.
In 1915 the Art Department of Fraureuth has been founded and 1916 was the year with the highest profit for the company.
The figurine was designed by german sculptor Ernst Wenck while he worked at the Fraureuth Art Department from 1919 - 1926 (bankruptcy year).
The Porcelain Factory Fraureuth was one of the biggest and best standard porcelain factories of the German Reich.
It is in excellent condition, colored hand painted, marked with green Fraureuth mark including "Art Department/ Kunstabteilung” mark, missing one finger behind, otherwise NO chips, NO cracks and NO repairs, please see the pictures as they are part of description.
