Beautiful untreated natural ruby weighing 5.46 grams, 27.30 cts. This natural Burmese ruby gemstone is the most valuable member of the corundum family. Its shades range from deep red to dark red, and you can find pieces with brown, purple, orange or pink hues. In different traditions, ruby is considered a precious stone that can provide protection against negative energies and the so-called evil eye. Since time immemorial, rubies have been considered to be able to protect their wearers. That is why in the Middle Ages it was common to decorate knights' swords with these gems.
