This Kriek is made from Lambik . Lambik is an artisanal spontaneously fermented Brussels beer that matures in oak barrels . The addition of cherries gives this Kriek its original beautiful red color and extraordinary aroma.
This beer also has the characteristic that it can be stored ,under the right conditions, for a very long time. Some producers of this kind of beer today mention on their bottles a "best before date" of at least 25 years after bottling.
As it ages, the color changes to a more brownish kind. The arroma, however, is preserved. Moreover, enthusiasts find that the pallet becomes even more complex and better. These 2 bottles were bottled before 1995 as the " best before" date indicates that date via notches in the label (October 95) . A third bottle of this beer was opened to test its condition before offering the bottles . This Kriek was still perfectly fine with nice foam and fantastic flavor .
The bottles have a cork as closure as well as a crown cap to ensure possible long storage .

The bottles will be securely packed for shipment.
After having received the bottles and before drinking , it is recommended to have them stored several days in a dark place in a standing position . This to allow any possible loosened sediment to settle again .
