This tooth is NOT a Woolly Mammoth tooth, as usual, but a molar from the much older, bigger and more rare Southern Mammoth (Google it, it is truly fascinating).
This tooth is compact (nearly a kilo), heavily fossilised (because of it's older age) and very beautiful in it's brown and blue shades of colour.
It was found in the province of Pest in Hungary and it is Early Pleistocene in age (2,5 million - 800.000 years old). Much older than it's nephew, the Woolly Mammoth.
This molar had been professionaly treated with a synthetic resin, as is usual, and they did a wonderful job doing it.
