Here is a dramatic large 'dragon scale' calcite from the famous modern discovery in Brushy Creek mine, Missouri!
The specimen features an impressive 22 x 11 cm crystal, in remarkably good condition, with no damaged terminations whatsoever (only a contact point with another crystal visible from the back side), showing smooth and glossy faces with growth patterns.
Notice also the well visible dark phantom inclusions of microgranular sulphides, probably marcasite.
Most distinctive feature in this deposit, you can see here a good combination of calcite with contrasting metallic lustre marcasite, displaying beautiful iridescences from golden-brassy to green and celadon blue.
A superb American classic that will definitely catch your attention in the showcase!
