A stunning solid silver German Art Nouveau belt or shoe buckle, made ca. 1900. It has a very fine gold plated Campanula decoration, a very popular flower of the Art Nouveau period. Beautiful craftsmanship and incredibly fine lines and details. One of the most sophisticated belt buckles I have personally seen, due to its quality and generous use of silver it must have belonged to a wealthy person.
Hallmarked with a German silver hallmark (left), silver fineness hallmark and a master silversmith hallmark (possibly import hallmark) with a six-petal flower and an unidentified square-shaped hallmark on the front.
