A peculiar characteristic is the formation of polychrome crystals, i.e. with different contrasting colors within the same crystal from which one of a kind gems are cut. These gems are sought after by jewelers to create unique non-repeatable objects, but also by collectors who can accumulate hundreds of gems of the same mineral, all different from each other.
