A beautiful Wimshurst electrostatic induction generator in a fantastic mint condition. You almost never find them in such beautiful original condition like this one, very rare to find one in this condition! It’s also very rare that everything is complete and no damage to the glass etc.

The Wimshurst, two contra-rotating ebonite plates each with the original strips of tinfoil. Two conductor bars at the front and back have small metal brushes at the ends that touch the strips as they move around. At each side are collecting combs attached to the glass Leyden jars and discharging electrodes.

The machine is made in Germany around 1910.

The machine does not run and makes no sparks at the moment, it needs to be properly adjusted for optimal use. It needs a new set of leather belts to make the discs turn.
