A Chinese blue and white porcelain 'Chilong' bowl. China, Ming dynasty (1368-1644, 大明), Wanli (1563-1620, 萬曆) period, late 16th century.
Finely potted U-shaped body rising from a short expanding foot, painted in rich cobalt-blue tones around the exterior with a pair of chilong amidst flames chasing the sacred pearl. The interior with a sacred pearl. Shop mark to the base.
References - similar bowl (pair) was sold by a major auction house, printscreen in pictures.
Dimensions: diameter – 11,7 cm; height – 7,3 cm. Weight – 224 g.
Conditions report: profesionally restored. Check UV-pictures for details. Due to the method of restoration, it's difficult to describe the range of works done.

A rare Chinese blue white underglaze painted porcelain bowl with pigeon and precious objects. Porcelain: China, Ming dynasty. Silver: Netherlands, probably 19th century, hallmarked.
Finely potted with everted rim typical for klapmuts bowls, molded walls, supported on a short foot. Painted to the interior with central medallion depicting a bird (pigeon?) perching on the rock, next to the flowering peony. Walls with four reserves with some of the 'precious objects' and flowers. Exteror with oval reserves alternating with geometrical motives, flower sprays at the rim. Footrim with some kiln grid.
Later mounted with a silver handle. The handle is precisely engraved with key-fret pattern. Silver parts hallmarked: Lion Passent mark which indicates minimum purity .833 and unrecognised maker's mark.
Dimensions: diameter - 13,6 cm; height of the bowl - 4,3 cm; total height with raised handle c. 13 cm, diameter - approx. 13,9-14,4cm (bowl is not perfectly round).
Conditions report: bowl with an old restoration to the wall. Foot-rim drilled, probably to hang the bowl on a wall. Age-related scratches to the glaze. Minor firing faults. Silver in very good condition, with natural patina.
